RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan celebrated his 56th birthday in model, spending it at a Phish present in Boulder, Colorado.

Phish, who took the stage on Saturday, July fifth at Boulder’s Folsom Subject after a rain delay, had been taking part in a canopy of Speaking Heads’ “Crosseyed and Painless” when drummer Jon Fishman shouted out the Wu-Tang chief with a hearty “Comfortable birthday, RZA!”

Trey Anastasio added to the festive temper by taking part in a fast rendition of “Comfortable Birthday” on his guitar, calling out “Wu-Tang without end” in celebration of RZA’s huge day.

RZA acquired the VIP remedy after the present, going backstage to spend time with Phish, the place he obtained to take a look at Anastasio’s guitar up shut and take a photograph with the band. See the Instagram photographs (together with Anastasio quoting Wu-Tang’s “seventh Chamber – Pt. II” for the caption) and a fan-shot video of Phish wishing RZA a cheerful birthday under. The birthday shoutouts kick in across the 4:15 mark.

Phish are at the moment on a run of US tour dates (get tickets here), which picks up once more on July ninth in Columbus, Ohio, occurring to hit such cities as Philadelphia, Chicago, and Louisville earlier than wrapping up in Hampton, Virginia.

In the meantime, Wu-Tang Clan are amid their “Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber” farewell tour (get tickets here), with upcoming reveals in Boston, New York Metropolis, and extra earlier than calling it in Philadelphia on July 18th.
