Shanghai Doom is sonically exploring the stress of a world on edge: risky, unstable, and totally charged.
Their new album, Hazard Console, options eleven experimental tracks “primarily based across the theme of an influence overload,” the artists acknowledged in a press launch shared with EDM.com.
Traversing a wide range of sounds and tempos, the album delivers gritty, ominous vitality grounded in low-end stress. A few of the highlights embrace “Large,” which flexes jagged textures which might be each stunning and brutal in equal measure. “Berserkers” is designed to disorient, channeling a heavy dose of primal stress. Elsewhere on the album, razor-sharp depth unfolds in “Mad Ting,” which hits like a glitch in actuality.

“It is quite a lot of work, however one of the best half about an album is with the ability to take the listener on a journey and showcase a wide range of kinds,” says the duo in an unique dialog with EDM.com. “Initially, it was a few separate EPs, and we observed a standard theme between the songs, so we started formulating an album round it.”
“We, as a bunch, have just a few completely different sound design zones and musical kinds we faucet into, so it was enjoyable to see frequent themes emerge between the tracks. I like how this album performs out to begin to end, and the overarching story and chaos is all the time my favourite stuff to play out reside.”
Shanghai Doom kicked off their Hazard Console tour at Past Wonderland final month. They’re going to make stops in Indianapolis, Brooklyn, Charleston, and extra this summer time.
