Lengthy-running Dallas-based blackened doom quartet Krigsgrav has introduced their eighth full-length album, Stormcaller, set for launch on September 19 by way of Willowtip Data. Marking their first providing for the label, Stormcaller guarantees to be the band’s most full and highly effective assertion thus far — a fusion of black metallic fury, doom-laden ambiance, and sweeping melodic leads.

    Shaped in 2004, Krigsgrav has spent the final 20 years honing a sound that straddles the chilly grandeur of Scandinavian black metallic and the introspective weight of melodic doom. With Stormcaller, the band got down to synthesize all the pieces they’ve completed throughout their catalog whereas elevating their songwriting to new heights.

    Stormcaller was blended and mastered by Owe Inborr at Wolfthrone Studios, with drums recorded by Sam Paquette at S.A.M. Studios and extra engineering from Cody Daniels. The beautiful cowl paintings was created by Adam Burke (Nightjar Illustration), whose evocative type completely captures the fundamental energy of Krigsgrav‘s music. Album structure and design have been dealt with by Randi Matejowsky.
