    The Smile’s Tom Skinner Announces New Album Kaleidoscopic Visions, Shares Song: Listen

    The Smile’s Tom Skinner has introduced a brand new album: Kaleidoscopic Visions is out September 26 (through Brownswood Recordings/International Anthem).     “‘Kaleidoscopic Visions’ was the primary piece I wrote for the album,” Skinner stated of his new single. “Based mostly round an intuitive piano improvisation, it set the tone for my strategy and the sound I needed to realize within the artistic course of. Showcasing the conversational and collaborative dynamic of the music and my band, it foregrounds a moody, cinematic circulation inside a hazy, psychedelic backdrop.”

    Skinner made Kaleidoscopic Visions—his first album since 2022’s Voices of Bishara and its live companion—with bassist Tom Herbert, cellist Kareem Dayes, and woodwinds gamers Robert Stillman and Chelsea Carmichael. As well as, Portishead’s Adrian Utley performs electrical guitar on two songs, whereas Meshell Ndegeocello is on “The Maxim” and Contour’s Khari Lucas options on “Logue.”
