The Smiths drummer Mike Joyce has introduced his autobiography. The Drums presents a frontline view of the band’s story from “the self-confessed greatest Smiths fan on the earth,” because the product description places it. “His off-piste, frank and witty perspective permits him to re-contextualise fan favorite moments by means of a superbly susceptible, human perception into his life.” The Drums is due for launch on November 6.
New Trendy, an imprint of HMV proprietor Doug Putman’s new Putman Publishing home, is behind the publication. Past worldwide postage, particulars of a North American launch haven’t been revealed.
In 2013, Morrissey printed the primary Smiths memoir, the marginally infamous Autobiography, which he managed to get launched by way of the august imprint Penguin Classics. Johnny Marr adopted go well with with Set the Boy Free in 2016.
