Every Friday we choose a monitor from a Naxos Music Group album launched twenty years in the past to offer the accompaniment for 5 minutes of your downtime.
This week’s choose from the Capriccio label (C71028) is from a recording of the Flute Concerto by French composer Jacques Ibert (1890–1962). Composed in 1934, the work has usually been described as a catalyst for the invention of the flute as a solo instrument within the twentieth century. The primary motion, stuffed with power, is carried out right here by soloist Michael Faust.
