Robyn is again. Yesterday (November 9), the Swedish pop star posted a link to join a mailing checklist to her Instagram story, with the cryptic message “hold your eyes open…”. Now, she’s introduced what seems to be her first single in seven years. It’s referred to as “Dopamine,” and it’s out this Wednesday, November 12.

In September, Klas Åhlund, considered one of Robyn’s longtime collaborators, appeared on Per Nordmark’s podcast Nordmark Pod. In a quote from the episode, translated from Swedish by Stereogum, he shared, “Simply completed a brand new Robyn album that’s popping out. Tremendous thrilling! Very happy with it.”

Robyn’s final studio album, Honey, got here out in 2018. Since then she’s remained lively as a collaborator, that includes on songs by SG Lewis, Sigur Rós’ Jónsi, Smile, Neneh Cherry, and Jamie xx, and alongside fellow Swede Yung Lean on the remix of Charli XCX’s “360” from Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat.

Examine Honey at No. 71 on “The 200 Best Albums of the 2010s.”
