Rotting Christ have proven no indicators of slowing down over the previous 12 months. The Greek excessive metallic pioneers launched their new stay album, 35 Years of Evil Existence: Dwell in Lycabettus in April, capturing a monumental hometown efficiency that celebrated greater than three a long time of darkness. Now, the band are wanting each from side to side with a re-recorded model of their 2010 album Aealo, set to reach on January 23.

To mark the event, we sat down with frontman Sakis Tolis to speak about his favourite Rotting Christ songs to carry out stay — and his selections span practically the whole lot of the band’s lengthy and influential profession. Try that record under and get the band’s latest album Pro Xristou here, 35 Years of Evil Existence: Live in Lycabettus here, and the upcoming Aealo re-recording right here.

    “Demonon Vrosis” (Aealo, 2010)

Considered one of our most groovy, atmospheric and melodic songs. It incarnates the philosophy of the Historical Hellenic world on stage.

“In Yumen / Xibalba” (Kata Ton Daimona Eaytoy, 2013)

Considered one of our darkest creations. The music takes me (and hopefully, you too!) on a journey to the mysterious and darkish world of the Mayans. It’s a magical feeling to flee from this world by means of your creativeness on stage and I really feel that “In Yumen / Xibalba” does this by means of its ambiance.

    “Elthe Kyrie” (Rituals, 2016)

This music is impressed by Bachaee, which is likely one of the most well-known historical Greek tragedies. There’s no higher feeling for me on stage than being reminded of my roots whereas I’m so far-off from residence!

“Societas Satanas” (Lucifer Over Athens, 2015)

The old fashioned vibes of this music, together with its intense rhythm, offers me and our crowds a dose of adrenalin! It makes me consider the great outdated days.

    “Non Serviam” (Non Serviam, 1994)

That is greater than a music for us. It’s a life stance! Non Serviam. I don’t obey you!
