Final month, the surviving members of Kiss – Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss – reunited on the pink carpet on the Kennedy Heart Honors in Washington, D.C., lower than two months after Ace Frehley‘s dying. Beforehand, they had been a part of the 2025 Kennedy Heart honorees who acquired a medal from U.S. President Donald Trump in the course of the December 6 Oval Workplace ceremony.

Speaking to the Podcast Rock City, Peter Criss defined the heavy mixture of delight and grief he felt in the course of the occasion. His first response was pure disbelief.

“It was a dream. I couldn’t consider this child from the streets of Brooklyn, who grew up in 4 rooms with seven folks, is standing within the Oval Workplace. It was surreal. The worst factor was [original Kiss guitarist] Ace [Frehley] wasn’t there. I actually miss him dearly. We had been very shut.

“However his daughter was there, and his spouse Jeanette, who’s a bit of type of in poor health, however she was there, and [his daughter] Monique was there. And what touched me about it probably the most was that the president bought up from the desk, walked round, and gave Jeanette a hug in her wheelchair, after which gave Monique a giant hug and put the medal on her. That introduced tears to my eyes. I miss him dearly. There is a huge loss with out Ace,” Criss remembered.

Later, Criss stated he was “sorry” that he and Ace by no means bought a full studio venture collectively: “That was a dream of mine, that he and I might do an album collectively. I am sorry that by no means occurred. And Ace did extra solo albums than any of us in [Kiss]. He is performed, like, 10, simply, solo albums, greater than us. He was engaged on his new album earlier than his tragic accident, and he was on the point of go on one other tour. He was 74. God bless him. And there’ll by no means be one other.”
