    AMORPHIS Streams New Single “Crowned In Crimson”, Theme Song For Kalevala Film Son Of Revenge

    Finnish melancholic progressive metallic legends Amorphis have unveiled “Topped In Crimson,” a brand new single that additionally serves as the primary theme track for the upcoming historic fantasy movie Son Of Revenge – The Story Of Kalevala. The movie is ready to premiere in Finland on January 16, 2026.

    “Topped In Crimson” contains a putting father–daughter vocal efficiency from Amorphis frontman Tomi Joutsen and his daughter Iida Joutsen, including an intimate and deeply emotional dimension to the band’s already expansive sound.

    The track’s sweeping dynamics and melodic depth replicate the sonic world of Amorphis‘ acclaimed 2025 studio album Borderland, whereas introducing a brand new cinematic sensitivity completely suited to its position as a movie theme. Lyrically, the observe brings the tragic Kalevala hero Kullervo to life, with phrases penned by longtime Amorphis collaborator Pekka Kainulainen.

    For many years, Amorphis have drawn inspiration from The Kalevala, Finland’s nationwide epic, reimagining its myths and characters by way of heavy, melodic, and progressive metallic. With Son Of Revenge – The Story Of Kalevala, these mythic narratives now transition from music to the large display.

    Amorphis guitarist and songwriter Esa Holopainen defined how the collaboration got here collectively: “Director Antti Jokinen acquired in contact with us and briefly informed us about his bold movie challenge. We organized a gathering with him, throughout which we had been in a position to see visible materials from the movie and undergo the script. Antti hoped that Amorphis would create the movie’s theme track — a challenge we agreed to right away.”

    Son Of Revenge – The Story Of Kalevala is an upcoming Finnish historic fantasy movie directed by Antti Jokinen and written by Jokinen and Jorma Tommila. Primarily based on The Kalevala, the movie follows Kullervo, a tragic anti-hero pushed by vengeance, sorrow, and supernatural energy.
