Anna Calvi has enlisted Perfume Genius for a canopy of the Bonnie “Prince” Billy basic “I See a Darkness.” The tune accompanies the current launch of Calvi’s new Substack, Carving Silver in Strange Weather, a house for unreleased songs, playlists, and writings on music. Calvi stated in a press launch, “So many songs are about romantic love. However I wished to spotlight the romance of the chosen household, the depth of connection that isn’t tethered to heteronormative beliefs. It’s such a strong tune concerning the craving for intimacy. I like inhabiting different individuals’s songs. Once I sing another person’s phrases, I really feel like I am getting nearer to myself someway, as a result of the songs I select specific one thing I can’t articulate.”
Calvi’s current work contains scores for the ultimate two seasons of Peaky Blinders, launched in 2023. Her final albums have been 2018’s Hunter and its guest-assisted companion LP Hunted. Fragrance Genius launch Glory this 12 months.
