“E After Subsequent,” the Moby rework that has grow to be a staple of Avalon Emerson’s DJ units, has been formally launched through Dead Oceans. Billed as a collaboration between the 2, it’s a part of Emerson’s dancefloor-oriented single collection Perpetual Emotion Machine, which follows her 2023 dream-pop album, Avalon Emerson & the Charm.

As Emerson stated upon saying the collection, “These songs had been created for my DJ units. Whether or not they’re fully authentic, edits to recontextualize previous favorites, instrumental, or characteristic me singing, they’re all a part of my perpetual emotion machine. And the machine steams on.”

Moby’s authentic, “Subsequent Is the E,” appeared on his 1992 self-titled album; it was renamed “I Really feel It” in the UK to melt any implied reference to ecstasy.
