Deftones started teasing one thing referred to as “Non-public Music” final week throughout a UK present alongside the date of July 10. Now Deftones has seemingly confirmed that new music is coming this week because of a mysterious teaser that appears like screenshots of a brand new music video.

Additionally based mostly on these two stills, it seems like touring bassist Fred Sablan is within the band completely – or a minimum of it a part of this album cycle. Sablan changed Sergio Vega, who left the band in 2022. Vega‘s groove-oriented bass enjoying helped form the band’s post-Chi Cheng period, contributing considerably to 4 studio albums: Diamond Eyes in 2010, Koi No Yokan in 2012, Gore in 2016, and Ohms in 2020.

All we all know to this point is that the brand new file was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters). Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter famous in a 2024 interview with B-Actual‘s The Dr. Greenthumb present, it’s going to be a mixture of Koi No Yokan and Ohms. Humorous that Carpenter omits Deftones‘ 2016 album Gore, although I am certain lots of people are tremendous stoked about that.

“I really feel this one seems like a continuation of Ohms and Koi, that is what I might say… I let you know what, I believe while you hear it, like all of our data, you’ll hear our sound,” stated Carpenter. “You may hear us. However I believe you are going to hear issues on this one that you simply by no means heard on any of them. So…”

Carpenter later commented on if vocalist Chino Moreno rapped on the file, remaining mysterious about the entire thing: “He is actually good at flipping up what he does, like, he all the time modifications what he does, [while] nonetheless doing what he does. It is really fairly dope.”

Within the meantime, Deftones has the next dates lined up for 2025 to this point.
