On Thursday evening, Trump took to Reality Social to share that he’s “giving critical thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship,” including that, “she is just not a Nice American and is, in my view, incapable of being so.” The publish included a distorted picture of O’Donnell’s face.
Subscribing to the idea that Trump is utilizing her as a strategy to distract from the Epstein headlines, O’Donell herself has since reshared the president’s publish to her Instagram alongside the caption, “banishing me once more? logan roy could be proud. im the distraction – EPSTEIN SURVIVORS are the reckoning and your gold lamé throne is melting. solely rosie o’donnell.”
This isn’t the primary time Trump hasn’t threatened to revoke O’Donnell’s citizenship. In a June 2025 publish to Reality Social, he wrote, “Due to the truth that Rosie O’Donnell is just not in the most effective pursuits of our Nice Nation, I’m giving critical consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Risk to Humanity, and will stay within the fantastic Nation of Eire, if they need her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!” O’Donnell moved to Ireland shortly after Trump’s election final 12 months.

O’Donnell, who has butted heads with Trump since her days as a number on The View within the mid-2000s, responded to the president’s preliminary risk by calling him “a prison con man sexual abusing liar out to hurt our nation to serve himself.”
