Gore steel titans Exhumed are set to return in full throttle mode with their new studio album, Crimson Asphalt, arriving February 20 by way of Relapse Data. Alongside the announcement, the band has launched a savage new video for the album’s lead single, “Unsafe At Any Pace,” giving followers their first style of what guarantees to be certainly one of 2026’s most ferocious excessive steel releases.
Described as a high-speed collision of deathgrind brutality and groove-heavy savagery, Crimson Asphalt finds Exhumed shifting thematic gears. After latest albums explored graveyards, working theaters, horror tradition, and the band’s personal legacy, this time the main target turns to a much more acquainted — and lethal — setting: the American roadway.
“We’re very stoked to be again in your earholes with Crimson Asphalt,” stated Exhumed mastermind Matt Harvey. “This time round, we’re inviting you to accompany us to a spot that we spend a disproportionate quantity of our lives… a spot that may take you to the hospital or the grave in additional methods than you’ll be able to think about: the American roadway.”
Crimson Asphalt serves as a twisted love letter to life on the highway, filled with themes of horrific accidents, vehicular murder, faulty vehicles, gore-soaked security movies, zombified biker gangs, and mechanical demise.
Musically, the album smashes Exhumed‘s trademark riff-fueled deathgrind into whiplash-inducing grooves and threatening turns, delivering relentless depth with out sacrificing hooks. Pre-orders for Red Asphalt are available here.
To assist the discharge, Exhumed will take Crimson Asphalt on the highway all through 2026. The band kicks off a U.S. tour from February 19 via March 21 with Oxygen Destroyer and No/Más!
