Avery Tucker, previously one half of the indie-rock band Girlpool, has introduced his debut solo album: Paw is out October 10. He’s shared the brand new single “Like I’m Young,” too, and it comes with a Nick Vernet–directed video of Tucker performing the track whereas caught in a barren room with a canine. “‘Like I’m Younger’ might be some of the emotionally uncooked songs I’ve ever written,” Tucker mentioned in a press release. “There are traces within the track I keep in mind writing and pondering ‘I received’t preserve this in.’ I made a decision to take this track to the sting of myself on the time, and every time I play the track reside I stroll alongside that cliff inside me and really feel the peak.”
“Like I’m Younger” is the second track to be shared from Paw, following “Big Drops.” The 11-track LP was co-produced with Alaska Reid and recorded between Livingston, Montana, and Encino, California. Becoming a member of Tucker on Paw are Muna’s Katie Gavin (singing on “Angel”), Porches’ Aaron Maine (singing and producing “Child Broke”), and A. G. Cook dinner (producing “My Life Isn’t Leaving You”).
Girlpool, the Los Angeles–based mostly duo of Tucker and Harmony Tividad, broke up in 2022, a couple of months after releasing what would grow to be their fourth and last album, Forgiveness. Final 12 months, Tividad made her solo debut with the studio album Gossip.
