    Orchestra Toronto Opens The 2025/26 Season With Into The Light

    Into The Gentle is the title of the season opening live performance for Orchestra Toronto, that includes a program that can take the viewers on a musical journey from darkness to gentle. The October 18 live performance contains music by Christine Donkin, Richard Strauss, Beethoven, and Profofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1, with soloist Corey Gemmell on violin.

    Corey Lyle Gemmell, violin

    Corey Lyle Gemmell is a local of Hamilton, the place he started his musical journey finding out violin privately, and performing within the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (HPYO), the place he performed concertmaster. He later continued his research on the College of Toronto.

    Gemmell performs on a violin made in Milan in 1907 by Cipriano Briani, in addition to a contemporary violin crafted for him in 2005 by Toronto luthier, Hratch Armenious.
