Conductor John Jeter has been central to the rediscovery and illustration of Florence Value’s orchestral works. On this podcast, he discusses with Raymond Bisha his newest recording of her piano concerto and her two violin concertos, the one works she composed within the style. The early First Violin Concerto, with shades of Tchaikovsky and undertones of the blues, stands in distinction to the Second, written shortly earlier than her dying, extra dramatic, up to date and compact. The Piano Concerto in One Motion, which Value herself carried out, incorporates a few of her most lovely music set alongside moments of Romantic bravura.
