Real Estate started their Atlas anniversary tour final evening, and it meant the debut of a brand new guitarist, following the departure of Julian Lynch. Becoming a member of the band is James Richardson, a multi-instrumentalist finest identified for his work on tour and within the studio with MGMT. A consultant for Actual Property confirmed that Richardson is a brand new full-time member of the band.

“You may discover a brand new and pleasant face on stage with us this fall,” Actual Property shared on Instagram. “Please be part of us in welcoming @jomdry to the Actual Property Household! This dude rocks !!! … and he’s performed on a few of your favourite data of all time, I’m certain of it.”

Richardson has been a fixture in MGMT since Congratulations, and the band’s Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser have spoken fondly of him in interviews with Pitchfork. Past his work with MGMT, Richardson has performed on Cameron Winter’s Heavy Metal, Snail Mail’s Lush, Cola Boyy’s Prosthetic Boombox, and extra.

Julian Lynch joined Actual Property in 2016, following the departure of founding guitarist Matt Mondanile, who was fired after being accused of sexual misconduct by a number of girls.

Actual Property started their tour final evening in Los Angeles. The North American tour continues into October.
