Eddie Palmieri, the pianist, composer, band chief, and innovator of Latin music, handed away final Wednesday, August 6 at his dwelling in New Jersey. He was 88.
Born in East Harlem to a Puerto Rican immigrant household and raised within the South Bronx, Palmieri was uncovered to jazz within the New York Metropolis public faculty system.
