Slushii & sapientdream Unveil Transformative New Album Chrysalis

Los Angeles-based producer and genre-bending visionary Slushii returns with Chrysalis—an expansive 18-track journey that marks a pivotal second in his creative evolution. Launched beneath his new artistic label SONICdream, the album is a collaborative effort between Slushii and his ambient alter ego, sapientdream, mixing the emotional depth of singer-songwriter storytelling with the heartbeat of digital textures.

It’s his most immersive venture to this point, with Chrysalis serving as each a musical assertion and a conceptual cornerstone for the newly launched Sapient Dream webcomic on WEBTOON. Described as “a multi-sensory expertise,” Chrysalis fuses introspective songwriting with glitchy synthscapes, ambient prospers, and pop-leaning hooks, providing followers a twin expertise: one in sound, one in story.

Anchored by standout tracks like “Feels Like Heaven,” “I Hope You Know,” and “Needed Your Heart,” the album explores themes of affection, loss, and self-realization. The latter, co-produced with Samarth Dhawan and Grammy-winning combine engineer Dave Pensado, strips again Slushii’s normal high-energy aptitude in favor of a extra spacious, vocal-led sound design—one which lets emotion dictate the drop moderately than the opposite approach round.

Paired with collaborators CloudNone, SPIRIT LINK, and TIFFVNYJOY, Slushii stretches his sonic palette throughout electronica, ambient pop, and cinematic instrumentals. “Chrysalis,” by identify and nature, indicators metamorphosis. It’s uncooked, but refined. Dreamy, but grounded. And really a lot a diary disguised as a dance report.

The album’s visible extension, Sapient Dream, launched in tandem with the LP, follows Kuro, a seemingly common teen thrown into an intergalactic conflict after an opportunity encounter with a mysterious sludge creature. With every episode of the webcomic soundtracked by tracks from the album, the venture paints a vivid, synth-washed universe the place music and narrative drive one another ahead. It premiered July 6 on WEBTOON following a serious Anime Expo panel and DJ set.

Keep watch over Slushii as he continues evolving his sound from the mainstage to the meditative.
