Guitarist Steve Gunn has introduced a brand new instrumental album, Music for Writers, which lands on August 15 through Three Lobed. Hearken to the primary preview of the album, “Slow Singers on the Hill,” beneath.
Gunn recorded Music for Writers in Brooklyn, New York; Berlin, Germany; and Latvia. The almost 47-minute album was blended by Ernie Indridat and mastered by Carl Saff.
Music for Writers is Steve Gunn’s first solo album since 2021’s Other You. Since then, he’s joined with Bing & Ruth’s David Moore for Let the Moon Be a Planet and Live in London; collaborated with John Truscinski on Flam; teamed up with Shahzad Ismaily, Zoh Amba, and Jim White for Beings’ There Is a Garden; and extra.
