Sylvan Esso are again with a brand new tune, “WDID,” and with it, information of their departure from Spotify. Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn are releasing the only on their very own label, Psychic Hotline, and have vowed to chop ties with “a retailer that, along with all its different obtrusive flaws, immediately funds warfare machines,” as they put it in a press release. The duo’s exit from Spotify is the newest in a string of exits set off, in June, by Deerhoof, in a transfer backed by their label Joyful Noise. These to comply with swimsuit have included Hotline TNT, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Xiu Xiu, and—if their supposed removing goes forward—Massive Attack.
