    Steven Drozd—the Flaming Lips’ longtime guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and first songwriter alongside Wayne Coyne—is not within the band, in line with a since-deleted post Drozd made on-line. When replying to a fan on Threads who requested if he was “formally carried out with the FLips,” the musician replied, “They’re carried out with me – however we’re not speaking about it. So sure I’m transferring on. Simply maintain it to your self for now. OK?”

    Pitchfork has reached out to a consultant of the Flaming Lips for remark.

    Drozd joined the Flaming Lips in 1991 and has been a key member of the experimental psych-rock group ever since. Though he and Coyne have fashioned several side projects collectively up to now, Drozd has by no means parted methods with or taken a break from the band in these 34 years.
