    THE SCOOP | Tapestry’s Women In Musical Leadership Program Updates

    Two candidates graduate from this system, and one other is about to hitch. That’s the most recent information from Tapestry Opera’s Girls in Musical Management (WML) program in a nutshell.

    Conductors Maria Fuller and Naomi Woo graduate, whereas conductor Eve Legault joins the three-year WML program designed to offer mentorship, sensible alternatives and information to rising ladies leaders within the classical music world.

    Eve Legault will be a part of conductor Monica Chen, who will proceed within the third-year cohort, together with persevering with Affiliate Conductor Léa Moisan-Perrier. Two new Affiliate Conductors be a part of this system for 2025/26, Serena Reuten and Véronique Lussier.

    Graduates: Maria Fuller & Naomi Woo

    Maria Fuller and Naomi Woo have been a part of the second cohort of WML conductors.

    Maria Fuller relocated to Europe over the last season, the place she is now visitor Resident Conductor on the Teatr Wielki w Łodzi in Poland. There, she’s led ballet, opera, and orchestral performances, assistant performed Der fliegende Holländer, Romeo and Juliet, Turandot, and coached Hansel und Gretel and L’elisir d’amore. Maria was lately chosen from a discipline of 160 candidates to step into the Assistant Conductor place with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège in Belgium, a place that begins with the 25/26 season.

    Naomi Woo is ending her tenure as Music Director of the Nationwide Youth Orchestra of Canada with a tour that started in Toronto and ends on the West Coast. She is at present Inventive Accomplice with the Orchestre Métropolitain, and Assistant Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Over the 2024/25 season, Naomi has been a visitor conductor at orchestras in North America and Europe, together with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitain, Edmonton Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Royal Conservatory Orchestra, Toronto Symphony, and Calgary Philharmonic.

    New Faces

    Eve Legault

    Conductor Eve Legault is a local of Gatineau, Quebec the place, this final season, she grew to become the primary girl to conduct the Orchestre symphonique de Gatineau. She holds a DMA from the Manhattan Faculty of Music in New York, the place she was obtained the Helen Cohn Award. Eve lately served as Visitor Conductor with the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra. She can also be the Principal Conductor of the Pembroke Symphony Orchestra in Ontario.

    Serena Reuten

    German-Canadian conductor Serena Reuten is at present serving because the Assistant Conductor of the Omaha Symphony. She earned levels in flute efficiency on the Universities of Ottawa and Montreal, and at present holds the Evan Whallon Fellowship on the Eastman Faculty of Music, the place she is pursuing a Masters in Orchestral Conducting, and serves as assistant of the Eastman Faculty Symphony Orchestra.

    Véronique Lussier

    Véronique Lussier is from the Montréal area. In 2025, she performed the Orchestre Classique de Montréal, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc, and in partnership with Tapestry Opera Girls in Musical Management, serves as assistant conductor for the Nationwide Youth Orchestra of Canada’s sixty fifth anniversary tour this summer time season.
