Necromantic black doom creators Worm is again with a model new, very 80s horror-inspired single “Blackheart”.

“Blackheart” is Worm’s second single and part two of their official Necropalace short film series closely impressed by their obsession with horrors from the 80s and 90s. The particularly spooky (and purposefully dated) video options work from director Norman Cabrera (Danzig, Strolling Lifeless, Fright Evening II) and producer Maya Kay, colorist Alex Nicolaou (Drab Majesty), all with route from Ted Nicolaou (TerrorVision, Subspecies).

Worm vocalist Phantom Slaughter shares, “We take into account this to be a gothic vampire love ballad. Sharing a distinct form of emotion and shade than the remainder of the document. The lyrics contact on the isolation and loss one feels as a toddler of the evening.

“Musically, ‘Blackheart’ fuses Avant-garde music period Katatonia and their love of Fields Of The Nephilim with icy AOR like FM (UK), Strangeways, and Harem Scarem. We couldn’t depart behind our Floridian heritage so there are additionally frozen swamp nods to Loss of life (Symbolic) in addition to Crimson Glory.”

Worm‘s sonic palette roots in practically each worthy nook of maximum steel’s historical past – from the grandiose heights of ‘90s symphonic black steel to the emotional technicality of ‘80s shred steel. Since their lauded full-length Foreverglade, the Floridian band have solely grown extra highly effective, showcasing a stage of grandiose songcraft that’s past fashionable evaluate. On Necropalace, Worm has managed to do what many others nowadays can solely try: They stroll backwards into the longer term.

Necropalace was produced by Charlie Koryn (Morbid Angel), and blended and mastered by Arthur Rizk (King Diamond, Blood Incantation, Sumerlands, Cavalera, Soulfly). Necropalace is out February 13 through Century Media. Pre-orders are available here. Oh, and another factor – the album nearer “Witchmoon: The Infernal Masquerade” options Marty Friedman. Sure, that Marty Friedman.
